This book was helpful and I am glad I made the purchase. In addition to the initial knowledge gained the book is an excellant shelf reference.

This text provides an excellent high to mid-level detail summary of how to configure or plan for configuration of your SAP WM instance.

The people who intend to learn WM based on this book are in troubles. There are nothing in it you cannot get on SAP Library for free. Some critical subjects as "bulk storage" and "putaway near picking bin" have a lack of important info and practical examples.

I think the purchased I've made on Amazon went really well. Congratulations to the distributor and Amazon for the logistics.

Similar to the MM book which we purchased as a reference book and I reviewed for a blog this book although it purports to explain the WM system it is no more then the SAP help text which is freely available on online with screen shots. The book has a screen shot of most of the configuration options for WM with an explanation for each field but honestly to work with SAP WM you need to understand the big picture for example :Under basic Warehouse functions there is a paragraph that says"Storage section check active:When this indicator is set, SAP will search for storage bins in storage areas defined in the storage area check table."Really???? having been working with SAP WM since it was developed let me tell you that unless you have some context of what a storage section is and examples of how to use it, this tell you nothing except the technical explanation of the field. Unless you have other training this book again is nothing more then a reference. Save your money use the help text or at least try to get it at a discount, you are not going to understand how SAP WM works from this book.

I'm a SAP Consultant and have struggled a lot to find customizing guides for every single module in the logistics spectrum. I have bought some books, including the MM book written by the same author, downloaded documentation from SAP but the SAP official courses have been the only way of mastering a specific module in most of the cases. Any other source can be considered a reference and it is required to put a lot of effort to convert those materials into tutorials. This books is a very useful guide for SAP consultants with a logistics background who would like to learn SAP WM as well as for end-users who are interested in getting acquainted with SAP WM scope. The book covers how to set up master data and execute every-day activities in a warehouse, transaction by transaction, while explaining the customizing settings that regulate the process. It's worth pointing out that the book contains plenty of screenshots that makes it easy to follow without having a computer in front of you. So I can say with no doubts that I'm quite satisfied with the book, I've already read the first 6 chapters and it feels that WM is a simple solution and it would have been a waste of money to pay $3,000 for a 5-days course at SAP classrooms ([...]), specially when the official material is available in many of the file-hosting sites.

This is a good SAP book save for one problem, it is screaming out for the services of a good editor. I am an SAP consultant, trainer and end user and have installed SAP Warehouse Management with the help of this book. The maddening thing about it is it is packed with useful information, clunky sentences, unnecessary words and not quite enough information in some important areas. The automatic creation of storage bins springs to mind.I bought this author's Materials Management (First edition) book and it is similar. It still deserves its four stars because if you are an experienced SAP practioner you can fill in the bits Martin leaves out and ignore his stilted writing style. And if you are new to Warehouse Management you can decipher the writing style after a couple of readings and get a huge amount of useful information from it.

Not sure why SAP-Press allowed the publishing of this book. Too basic and no real warehousing examples. I have been working with WM in manufacturing and finished goods distribution environments for 8 years and the only benefit I found from the book is that it is a somewhat reasonable way to refresh your memory if you already know WM. If you are trying to learn SAP WM take a class or if you have access to a SAP system use the F1 help text of Documentation from the transaction codes, you will learn more. Beginners stay away from this book.
